Full-time physicians work a minimum of 130 hours per month. Emergency Medicine Board Certified Physicians who work at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield may also be asked to serve as clinical faculty for Southern Illinois University School of Medicine’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

SIU Emergency Medicine Residency Program

Mid-America Emergency Physicians is an invaluable partner to the Emergency Medicine residency program at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.  SIU residents practice under the supervision of MAEP's and SIU faculty in addition to having an emphasis on trauma and critical care during their training.  SIUEM is proud to have many graduates continue their careers with MAEP's as clinical faculty with several of them assuming leadership roles within the group.

Emergency Medical Services Team

The EMS team provides medical direction for Memorial EMS. Memorial EMS encompasses transport and non-transport EMS agencies in EMS Region 3. Agencies in the Memorial EMS system respond to medical emergencies every day in Morgan, Scott, Cass, Macoupin, Christian, Sangamon, Menard, and Logan Counties. Additionally, transport agencies within the Memorial EMS system provide Tier 1 and Critical Care inter-facility transport to tertiary care facilities within Central Illinois and Missouri.
